Research, Development & Innovation (RDI) Fund Financing Advisory

The RDI Fund (RDIF) helps R&D-intensive and deep-tech companies fund the jump from prototype to scale. It offers concessional loans of up to 50% of project cost at about 3% to 4% interest over 12 to 15 years, with optional equity. Bizastra runs the mandate end to end, from eligibility and project structuring to proposal and fund access. If your R&D leads to a component factory, the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) can support the manufacturing build-out.

The Financing

RDI Fund Financing Terms

RDIF financing can cover up to 50% of the assessed project cost, with the remaining 50% mobilised by the applicant or private investors. The main terms are below.
ParticularDetails
Type of support Primarily long-term concessional loans, with options for equity participation.
Maximum financing Up to 50% of the total project cost. The remaining 50% must be contributed by the company or private investors.
Interest rate About 3% to 4% concessional interest, depending on project evaluation.
Loan tenure 12 to 15 years, including the moratorium period.
Disbursement Funds released in milestone-based tranches linked to project progress.
Equity participation Up to 25% of the assistance amount may be taken as equity participation.
Debt-to-equity conversion Up to 20% of the loan can be converted into equity at a later stage, based on company valuation.
